International Women's Day, 2021

Every year, International Women’s Day is celebrated on 8 March around the world. An opportunity to highlight and reflect on the social, economic, political, and cultural achievements of women, it also marks a call to action for accelerating women’s equality.

This year we ask every women and every man to “ChoosetoChallenge”. What will you choose to challenge in order to help us achieve gender equality?

In 2020, Yemen ranked last (153 out of 153 countries) for gender equality*; however, the women of Yemen stand ready to support the recovery of their country. How can we support them?

UNDP is committed to empowering Yemeni women socially, financially, and in the justice sector – to ensure they can support themselves, their families, and their communities to rebuild and achieve a sustainable future for all.
