UN hails the release of two abducted UN staff
Sana'a, the two UN personnel abducted yesterday in Sana’a are released and in good health.
The UN is grateful for the determined efforts of the Yemeni Authorities which secured their safe return.
“We as the UN are here to assist the people of this country through a challenging time. We stand committed to you, the people of Yemen and the Government, in addressing humanitarian and development challenges and achieve a better and safe future for all the people living in this country,” says Dr. Ahmed Shadoul, acting Resident Coordinator for the UN in Yemen.
On this day the UN remains concerned about James Massaquoi, a Unicef staff abducted 172 days ago. The UN appreciates the Yemeni Authorities’ dedication to ensure that he, too, returns safely.
