Police Leaders develop their skills by attending a Leadership & Strategic Planning Course in Amman
AMMAN, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) in cooperation with United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)/Emergency Capacity Development Facility (ECDF) project and the Public Security Directorate of Jordan has organized an intensive two-week training course on Leadership and Strategic Planning for 10 senior police officers leading the new departments which were established after the restructuring of the Ministry of Interior as part of the Gulf Cooperation Council initiative and its implementation mechanism that was signed in Riyadh on 23 November 2011. The training is taking place at the Royal Police Academy in Amman Jordan from 17 to 28 November 2013 with funding from the U.S Department of State: Bureau of Intl Narcotic and Law Enforcement (INL).
The aim of this intensive training course is to develop and enhance the leadership; strategic planning and personal effectiveness skills of the participants. The first week of the training will be theoretical and will focus on enhancing the leadership; strategic planning and personal effectiveness skills of the participants. The second week will offer practical training in different police departments at Public Security Directorate of Jordan which are related to the jobs of the participants.
In his opening speech, the Deputy Director of Public Security Directorate for Criminal Investigation, Major General Abed Mudi Al Dmour stated “that the Public Security Directorate of Jordan will spare no efforts to equip the senior officers from the Ministry of Interior in Yemen with adequate knowledge and the skills in Leadership and Strategic Planning which will enable them to serve the needs of their departments”. He thanked UNDP’s Emergency Capacity Development Facility project and the U.S Department of State Bureau of Intl Narcotic and Law Enforcement (INL) for their support in organizing this imperative training course.
The Yemen Deputy Minister of Interior for Equipment and Finance Major General Dr, Awad Yaeish noted “that the Ministry of Interior is dedicated to qualifying Senior Police Officers in leadership positions at the Ministry as well ensuring their continuous professional development”. He thanked the Public Security Directorate of Jordan Royal Police Academy for conducting the Leadership and the Strategic Planning course and also thanked UNDP’s ECDF project and the U.S Department of State Bureau of Intl Narcotic and Law Enforcement (INL) for their continuous support to the Ministry of Interior.
The ECDF Police Advisor Mr. Mohammed Thatha thanked the Public Security Directorate of Jordan and the Royal Police Academy for organizing the training course and urged the participants to take the maximum advantage of this training opportunity and wish them a successful training.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Commandant of the Royal Police Academy, senior police officers from Public Security Directorate and Jordanian media.
