    Biometric Voter Registration Kits Arrive in Yemen, Signaling a New Era for Yemen

    Two-thousand nine-hundred and fifty biometric voter registration kits have arrived in Yemen as a portion of the planned roll out of a technologically-advanced biometric voter registration system supported by the Multi-donor Basket Fund project managed by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), which is spearheading the support to the reform to the currently outdated voter registry.

    To support elections in Yemen Saudia Arabia signed cost sharing agreement with UNDP

    A signing ceremony was organized at the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Saudi Arabia between the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and UNDP, in which the cost sharing agreement for the amount of US$ 1 million in favor of the project “Support to Elections during Transition Period (SETP)” that was signed by His Excellency Mr. Ali Ben Mohammed Al-Hamdan, Ambassador of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Mr. Ismail Oul Cheikh Ahmed, UNDP Resident Representative.

    Police Female Leaders further develop their skills attending a Leadership & Strategic Planning Course

    Women and children, first victims in armed conflict

    Yemen’s Ministry of Interior, in cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)/Emergency Capacity Development Facility (ECDF), continues its efforts to address the issue of Women and children as the first victims of armed conflicts. In this regard, the Ministry of Interior and UNDP have convened a second workshop on the impact of armed conflict on women and children in Aden for police officers from southern governorates. The first workshop was convened last week in Sana’a for police officers from center and northern governorates. The workshop started today under the patronage under the patronage of the Ministry of Interior at the police coast Guard training center.
