A signing ceremony was organized at the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Saudi Arabia between the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and UNDP, in which the cost sharing agreement for the amount of US$ 1 million in favor of the project “Support to Elections during Transition Period (SETP)” that was signed by His Excellency Mr. Ali Ben Mohammed Al-Hamdan, Ambassador of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Mr. Ismail Oul Cheikh Ahmed, UNDP Resident Representative.

Police Female Leaders further develop their skills attending a Leadership & Strategic Planning Course
SANA’A, the he Ministry of Interior in cooperation with United Nation Development Programme (UNDP)/Emergency Capacity Development Facility (ECDF) project and with funding from the U.S Department of State: Bureau of Intl Narcotic & Law Enforcement (INL) has organized an intensive one-week training course on Leadership & Strategic Planning for 28 female police officers from Sana’a and other Governorates serving in key positions and senior female police officers aspiring to become leaders.

Sana'a, Wednesday, A signing ceremony was organize today at the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation, in which three United Nations Development Programme funded project documents were signed to support the Government of Yemen’s efforts in restoring livelihoods in post conflict areas with a total cost of US$ 4.4 million.

Yemen’s Ministry of Interior, in cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)/Emergency Capacity Development Facility (ECDF), continues its efforts to address the issue of Women and children as the first victims of armed conflicts. In this regard, the Ministry of Interior and UNDP have convened a second workshop on the impact of armed conflict on women and children in Aden for police officers from southern governorates. The first workshop was convened last week in Sana’a for police officers from center and northern governorates. The workshop started today under the patronage under the patronage of the Ministry of Interior at the police coast Guard training center.

Key factor for job creation is a strong alliance building with the private sector. The job placement approach aims at bridging the gap between Youth’s needs of employment and the private sector in Yemen.

The Supreme Commission for Elections and Referendum, SCER, with technical support from the international community, is leading a massive and ambitious project to transform the hand-written, and labour-intensive registry process into a biometric voter register that will ensure security and electoral integrity for years to come.
